Episode 01: Hello
Well, here we are. Hello and thanks for dropping in.
This has been four years coming. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said I’d build a website to share the thing I’ve had a passion for for most of my life. I caught the photography bug back when SLRs ruled, when every shot came back as a physical print — 24 or 36 little mysteries in an envelope, usually accompanied by a sticker declaring “too dark” or “underexposed.” character‑building “stuff”.
I jumped to DSLR in 2009, and — after years of stubborn resistance — surrendered to the mirrorless world in 2025. I’d long claimed mirrorless had stripped away the last bit of soul from the craft… but that’s a rant for another day.
Digital brought incredible freedom, but it also took away that tangible end product — the prints, the negatives, the proof you’d tried something. Sure, we can admire our shots in Lightroom. Sure, we can still make prints. And yes, there’s still that rush of coming home after a day out shooting and seeing what you’ve captured. But it’s far too easy for images to drift into a folder, vanish onto a hard drive, or disappear with one careless click.
Which is why I’m here. I like my photography. I’ve been told others do too. And while social media exists, it often feels disposable — or like a never‑ending battle with “the algorithm.” This space gives me somewhere to gather the work I care about, somewhere I control, somewhere I can revisit the places and fleeting moments I’ve been lucky enough to witness.
And now that you’ve found your way here, I hope you enjoy it too.
That’s enough from me for now. Have a good one.
